This program begins with a pre-program tutorial introducing financial accounting through a simulation that emphasizes interpreting financial reports and understanding auditors' perspectives. Participants focus on identifying key financial reports, understanding their content, and appreciating how investors evaluate firm performance. They are then introduced to the concept of cost of capital, highlighting how investors assess risk and how firms must account for capital costs like any other input. Finally, they learn to evaluate investment projects, by assessing strategic decisions' impact on shareholder value using real-world scenarios.
